Gujarat Printing Press is one of the oldest printing presses in India that has also published invaluable works bearing on philosophy and religion. It was started by Fardunjee Marzban (A. d. 1787-1847) in A. D. 1805 at Bombay (now Mumbai).
Achievement[edit]
It begin it's work as a a book binding shop which later developed into a printing press and a publishing house. It published the Zoroastrian Calendar in A. D. 1814 and the newspaper Bombay Samachar in A. D. 1822 in the Gujarati language. Today it is the oldest and continuously printed newspaper in the world.
Most Remarkable Publication[edit]
Over the years, this press has published many extremely valuable scriptures of the religion with commentaries and translations. The most outstanding publication of this press till now is the Rāmāyana of Vālmīki with three standard commentaries.
