By Swami Harshananda
Varṇāśramadharma literally means ‘duties of varṇas and āśramas'.
In the ancient, medieval scriptures and religious treatises, the word ‘dharma’ is generally interpreted as varṇa-āśrama-dharma, duties and responsibilities of the various varṇas and āśramas.
