- one of the three categories that human beings are designated to in Hindu astrology, depending on which of the 27 lunar mansions, or Nakşatras they fall under at birth, those nakşatras themselves being of those three categories, i.e. Deva (godly), Rākşasa (demonic) and Manuşya (human).
