Anāhatacakra literally means ‘unbeaten sound plexus.
It is one of the six centers of psychic energy mentioned in the works on Haṭha-yoga. This center is called anāhatacakra since the anāhata sound (sound produced without the beating of two objects) is heard there. It is situated in the region of the heart and is said to have twelve petals of red color.
