Kashtam yennude mujjanma papangal, Dushtangalaya vyadhi swaroopangal, Kettiyittu valukkunna dehavum, Gheeshpathi manu mandhira Govinda., 1
Oh Govinda of the city of Guru and Vayu,
The sins that I committed in previous births,
Are becoming horrible forms of diseases,
And are pulling down my body.
Kalu kondu nadappan vasamilla, Kosa pole melinja sarreravum, Tholu pole sareerathilullu may, Gheeshpathi manu mandhira Govinda., 2
Oh Govinda of the city of Guru and Vayu,
I am not able to walk with my legs,
As I have body as thin as a stick,
And one which appears to be only skin.
Keezhil cheythoru doshangal kondallo, Kezhu marayi vannithu jnan ippol, Dosham koodathe palicharulenam., Gheeshpathi manu mandhira Govinda., 3
Oh Govinda of the city of Guru and Vayu,
Due the sins that I have committed before,
I am now forced to cry and weep,
And so please look after me without problems.
Kutha karanam yennude dehathil, Muthi vannithu vyadhikal okkeyum, Mari thannu yenne kathu arulename, Gheeshpathi manu mandhira Govinda., 4

In my body which is the culprit,
All these diseases have become serious,
And please cure them and look after me.
Koopathil chadi chakayo vendathu, Papam yethanum thinnu marikkayo, Evam ingane thonnunnu, Daivame, Gheeshpathi manu mandhira Govinda., 5

Oh God, thoughts arise in my mind,
As to whether I should die jumping in the well,
Or die by eating some thing.
Kenu thane kazhiyunnu rathrityil, Ooninilla ruchi yoru thellume, Kani neram Shukavum yenikkilla, Gheeshpathi manu mandhira Govinda., 6

I spend my time alone at night weeping,
I do not have any taste for food,
And I do not have pleasure even for a second.

Oh Govinda of the city of Guru and Vayu,
I salute you with folded hands Oh God,
For destruction of the sins committed by me,
And all that I tell are not false.
Kollumarilla mathakkal makkale, Vallthum cheythal palippathe ullu, Thellu samsayam koodathe palikka Gheeshpathi manu mandhira Govinda., 8

The mothers do not kill their children,
Whatever they do they protect them,
And so without any doubt protect me.
Kopam yingane thonnathe yen pothi, Papa santhi varuthi thraname, Thapamullathu mokke kalayane, Gheeshpathi manu mandhira Govinda., 9

Oh God do not get angry at me,
Please help me to wash away my sins,
And also remove all the pains that I have.
