Colonial Discourse and the Suffering of Indian American Children Book Cover.webp
We examine the impact of the current colonial-racist discourse around Hindu Dharma on Indians across the world and prove that this discourse causes psychological effects similar to those caused by racism: shame, inferiority, embarrassment, identity confusion, assimilation, and a detachment from our cultural heritage.

Mujhe Teri Jaroorath hai mayya

From Hindupedia, the Hindu Encyclopedia

Translated by P. R. Ramachander

Mujhe Teri Jaroorat Hai Maiya
Mujhe Teri Jaroorat Hai Maiya
Mera Tere Siva Koi Aur Nahi

Oh mother I have the need for you,
Oh mother. I have the need for you,
For to me except you there is no one else.

Mujhe Teri Jaroorat Hai Maiya
Tere Laal Hazaro Hai Jag Me
Per Meri Maa Koi Aur Nahi

Oh mother I have the need for you,
In this world there are thousands whom you love dearly,
But mother to me no one else is there.

Mujhe Teri Jaroorat Hai Maiya
Mera Tere Siva Koi Aur Nahi
Jab Se Tu Roothi Hai Mujhse
Koi Naa Pass Bithaye Maa
Naa Koi Mere Aanshu Pochhe
Naa Koi Gale Lagaye Maa,
Mujhe Lambi Umar Ki Tere Siva
Mujhe Lambi Umar Ki Tere Siva
Deta Naa Dua Koi Aur Nahi
Mujhe Teri Jaroorat Hai Maiya
Mera Tere Siva Koi Aur Nahi

Oh mother I have the need for you,
There is no one else to me except you,
After you became sulked with me,
No one made me sit near them,
No one wiped away my tears mother,
And no one hugged me mother.
No one else except you gives me wishes,
No one else except you gives me wishes.
For a long life, Oh mother,
Oh mother. I have the need for you,
For to me except you there is no one else.

Tere Lal Ke Haal Pe Haste Sab Apne Begane Maa
Tere Lal Ke Haal Pe Haste Sab Apne Begane Maa
Kya Batlau Kaise Kaise Sahta Hu Taane Maa
Kya Batlau Kaise Kaise Sahta Hu Taane Maa
Bus Naam Ke Saare Naate Hai
Bus Naam Ke Saare Naate Hai
Tujh Bin Apna Koi Aur Nahi,
Mujhe Teri Jaroorat Hai Maiya
Mera Tere Siva Koi Aur Nahi

Seeing the state of your dear one all people laugh and go away, Oh mother
Seeing the state of your dear one all people laugh and go away, Oh mother,
What shall I tell, what shall I tell about how I bore the cruel treatment of mine,
What shall I tell, what shall I tell about how I bore the cruel treatment of mine,
Except that I depended on the help of your name,
Except that I depended on the help of your name,
As except you, I do not have anybody
Oh mother. I have the need for you,
For to me except you there is no one else.

Bhala Bura Jaisa Bhi Hu Mai
Mujhme Tera Noor Hai Maa
Bhala Bura Jaisa Bhi Hu Mai
Mujhme Tera Noor Hai Maa
Kyu Teri Mamta Ka Aanchal
Mere Sir Se Door Hai Maa
Bhala Bura Jaisa Bhi Hu Mai
Mujhme Tera Noor Hai Maa
Kyu Teri Mamta Ka Aanchal
Mere Sir Se Door Hai Maa
Mujhe Inn Charno Me Rahne De
Mujhe Inn Charno Me Rahne De
Maa Mera Swarg Kahi Aur Nahi
Mujhe Teri Jaroorat Hai Maiya
Mera Tere Siva Koi Aur Nahi
Mera Tere Siva Koi Aur Nahi
Mera Tere Siva Koi Aur Nahi

Oh mother good and bad are always there,
Oh mother within me is your light,
Oh mother good and bad are always there,
Oh mother within me is your light,
Oh mother why is it that the cover of your affection,
Is far far away from my head oh mother,
Allow me to be seated near your feet,
Allow me to be seated near your feet,
Oh mother to me heaven is no where else,
Oh mother. I have the need for you,
For to me except you there is no one else.
For to me except you there is no one else.
For to me except you there is no one else.
