Rādhā

Rādhā literally means ‘one who propitiates’.
- Some of the purāṇas describe her as the daughter of Vṛṣabhānu and Kalāvatī.
- She was the dearest companion of Kṛṣṇa in Gokula.
- Kama’s foster-mother also was Rādhā, because of which he got the name ‘Rādheya’.
