Colonial Discourse and the Suffering of Indian American Children Book Cover.webp
We examine the impact of the current colonial-racist discourse around Hindu Dharma on Indians across the world and prove that this discourse causes psychological effects similar to those caused by racism: shame, inferiority, embarrassment, identity confusion, assimilation, and a detachment from our cultural heritage.

From Hindupedia, the Hindu Encyclopedia

By Swami Harshananda

Saptasādhana literally means ‘seven fold spiritual path’.

The works on Haṭhayoga like the Gheranda Samhitā[1] describe seven exercises for purifying the body and the mind, and making it fit for yogic sādhana. They are:

  1. Śodhana - purification
  2. Dṛḍhatā - strengthening
  3. Sthairya - steadiness
  4. Dhairya - steadiness produced by the restraint of the senses
  5. Lāghava - lightness
  6. Pratyakṣa - direct perception
  7. Nirlipti - isolation
