Talk:Rebirth or Resurrection:Non Verifiability of the Theory of Resurrection

According to the Semitic texts, no one but the Prophets can visit Heaven or Hell before the Day of Judgment. The accounts of these places given by Biblical prophets like Ezekiel and St. John and by Muslim texts are self-contradictory and symbolic interpretations that raise questions about their literal validity.

In contrast, numerous documented cases suggest that individuals have recalled past lives, a phenomenon that aligns with the Hindu Dharm’s perspective on rebirth. Śāstras assert that through the disciplined practice of Yog, individuals can gain insight into their past existences. Furthermore, advanced meditative states, such as Samādhi, are believed to facilitate communion with liberated ātmās who have attained mokṣa. This experiential approach allows for personal verification, making the understanding of life and death more compatible with the principles of empirical inquiry and the scientific method.
