Talk:Rebirth or Resurrection:Resurrection is a Mind Deadening Philosophy
The Semitic concept of resurrection contradicts logical reasoning, empirical observation, and modern science, relying solely on blind faith. Historically, such dogmatism led to the Dark Ages in Europe, with intellectual progress resuming only after the rise of Humanism and the Age of Reason.
While some claim Islamic civilization thrived scientifically, historical evidence suggests that its intellectual progress occurred despite religious orthodoxy, not because of it. Thinkers like Avicenna and Averroes faced persecution, as noted in *Why I Am Not a Muslim* by Ibn Warraq.
In contrast, Hinduism's emphasis on *pratyakṣa* (empirical verification) and *prajñā* (wisdom) nurtured free thought and scientific advancements. Unlike faith-based adherence, Hindu epistemology encourages inquiry and reason. Today, while many in the West still identify with Abrahamic traditions, much of this adherence is nominal, cultural, or compartmentalized rather than based on deep philosophical conviction.
