Talk:Religious and Spiritual Benefits of Pūjā
By Vishal Agarwal
Religious and spiritual benefits of prayer are of two types – seen (immediate) and unseen (delayed).
Seen benefits include mental peace and an awareness of our limitations, as well as a realization that there is a higher power than us. Sometimes, the situation is beyond our control, and praying in these situations helps us to accept things the way they are and leave the results in the hands of Bhagavān. Secondly, The physical nature of the ceremony, which involves a lot of verbal, mental, and physical action, is very beneficial to people who need external aids to be able to focus mentally on the Lord.
Pūjā in itself is a meritorious action. Even if its results are not seen now, they will manifest at a future time in this life or the next in the form of success or a more comfortable or happy situation for us. Therefore, it has unseen benefits, too.
