Paurāṇic karm refers to rituals and observances rooted in the teachings of the Purāṇas. These include a wide range of vrata- vows and austerities undertaken for spiritual merit, health, prosperity, or devotion to a Devi or Devta. The Purāṇas elaborate on these acts in great detail, prescribing specific procedures, timings, and benefits associated with each vrata, making them accessible to devotees across different social and spiritual backgrounds.
