Janana

From Hindupedia, the Hindu Encyclopedia

By Swami Harshananda

Janana literally means ‘birth’.

The body of every living being is subject to sadvikāras or six kinds of changes. Janana or birth is the first among all of them. The word is also used for the extrication of the letters of a mantra through the mātṛkāyantra.
