The Pāñcarātra Āgamas, the basic texts of Vaiṣṇavism or the Bhāgavata sect were called ‘Mulaveda’ by their followers since they were taught by God Nārāyaṇa Himself to the sages Nara, Sānḍilya, Prahlāda and others.
