Sugriva literally means ‘one with a beautiful neck’.

Sugrīva and Vālī were the sons of the vānara king of Kiṣkindhā known as Rkṣarajas. Sugrīva was born by the grace of Surya[1] and Indra.[2]

  2. Indra means the king of gods.
