Varāhāvatāra literally means Boar Incarnation.

Varāhāvatāra is the third in the series of Daśāvatāras of Mahaviṣṇu in which the Lord killed the demon Hiraṇyākṣa and lifted the earth out of the flood waters in which it had been submerged.
