Tārakamantra

From Hindupedia, the Hindu Encyclopedia

By Swami Harshananda

Tārakamantra literally means ‘a mantra that takes one across the ocean of sansāra’.

Though the term Tārakamantra can be applied to any mantra of God, it is specially reserved for Śrī Rāma. It can be either ‘Rāma’ or ‘Omh rāmāya namah’.
